Components:

* Cheapie felt top hat from Hot Topic, squashed, wrinkled, crushed, and slept on.

* Wig called "Carol" from some eBay wig seller.

* Trenchcoat from a thrift store, slightly customized for screen accuracy, pockets made huge for maximum clowning.

* Really really baggy pants from a thrift store

* Working taxi-style bulb horn from some online music dealer

* Short-sleeved red checkered shirt, garish striped necktie, fabric belt from my normal wardrobe

* Pockets full of miscellaneous clown props, magic tricks, etc.


I absolutely love playing this character. Groucho may be my favorite to watch, but Harpo is my favorite to act.

When wearing Harpo's costume, slipping into character is just about immediate, and it actually gets really difficult for me to break character. After events or during breaks I find myself having to at least take the wig off in order to hold conversations with people again.
