This was another last minute costume. XD (it's a common trend). The pleather for the coat was some $2/m pleather from Wal-Mart, I think. It was too shiny, but it's all I had at the time. The coat was made from two patterns that I altered and stuck together.

It was the first time I'd spiked any kind of wig, and Amy the Yu was awesome and helped me with the first bunch of spikes.

The weapons were carved out of insulation foam (the crosspiece in the middle was some form of PVC piping), covered in gesso, and then painted the night before I left for the convention. Unfortunately, I made the weapons a bit too big (and too fragile). Everytime someone breathed near them, a spike would fall off. Eventually fixed that by putting metal things in each spike.

It was fun cosplaying Axel, but this costume was so warm to wear. :'x
