This costume was on my long list, but when my friend Melissa needed a Tsukasa for Anime Boston, I said I would do it. I already had some purple fabric and a short purple wig so I was already partway there.

I used the Simplicity cheerleader pattern and modified another pattern in muslin first. I changed quite a bit of the pattern to get what I was looking for. The wig is Secret in Violet. I know it's too short, but I already had it and didn't feel the need to buy a new wig just a couple inches longer.

I had fun with this costume and I'm happy with how it came out (and I still hate my stupid wide shoulders). I'm especially happy because I did almost all of it myself. My mom helped with the finishing (such as the zipper and applique stitch), which I still struggle with.
