Spirited Away has had a very special place in my heart since I saw it in college. Every time I watch it, I fall in love all over again. When my friend Rynn said she wanted to cosplay Chihiro, my heart lept up and demanded to cosplay Haku. and so I did.

This costume, despite it's simplicity, was a pain in the rear to make. There is no pattern for that weird tunic they wear, so I had to use a tutorial, draft the pieces myself, and modify it. The whole over-tunic is fully lined, and the pants were patterned from a pair of tied pants that I bought a few years back in Hawaii. The sandals were once a pair of pink flip-flops, that I spent hours turning into white sandals. And finally, the wig -- an absolute labor of love, that little darling started as a dark brown Cleo wig, which I then colored with two layers of green acrylic ink, to achieve the subtle, muddy green color of Haku's hair.
