As usual, when selecting and working on male cosplays, I find less of a choice. This one was surprisingly easy once the right material was found. The top was essentially a kimono top and since we are dealing with warmer weather and a heavier, black material for the outer layer, we elected to go with a false tunic underneath (a lighter whiter material sewn to the sleeves and to the edges to create the appearance of an undershirt). The pants were made of the same, thicker black material in order to hold shape. The cord for the sword was actually individual links cut from a double layer of craft foam to maintain flexibility but still keep a cloth-like appearance (a excellent solution from Inez as I was looking toward actual cloth cord taking much more time). The sword is basic from multi-layered balsa with gauze for the tail.
