This costume really wasn't very hard to make but it was very time consuming.

The flowers and patterns on the skirt were hand painted, the bow was made with much interfacing and origami skillzz, and the hair ornaments were made from toothpicks, wooden skewers and gold paint.
The wigs was also styled by me.

I love the fact that the colour scheme in this costume is quite random, but it somehow works.

This costume was very fun despite the fact that only a few people knew who I was. I adore Bakumatsu Kikansetsu, it's a really fabulously well made anime but no one has seen it.....

The only annoying thing was having to carry my skirt whenever I walked so that the silk lining didn't snag on the ground.

In retrospect, there is a lot wrong with this costume, which I could have done better. I would love to fix it up someday but it's so difficult to actually wear this monstrosity and the wig that I'm not sure I can be bothered.
