I found some gorgeous red leather at the local leather shop and bought 2 sides of it. I did not have any idea what to make with it but it was just too sweet to pass up. After searching for weeks for something to make, I saw the pic of this and just had to do it.
The armor is 100% leather stamped, paterned and cut by myself. The details are highlighted with gold screen printing ink that has a gold leafing look to it.
There is a small amount of sewing, pretty simple though. All the armor attaches to me with buckles, with the exception of the shoulders which are attached with velcro.
The most difficult part by far was the helment. Many hours of paterning, hand sewing, and leather stretching were involved. Thankfully it came out how I wanted it to the first time.
The sword and the shield are made with a wooden base with fiberglass covering them for a better finish and to give stregnth. I am going to redo the strap on the inside of the shield slightly to make it easier to put on and take off.
