Description
Some of the outfits in CCS are so cute, and this is one of my favourites for some odd reason (next to the jester outfit she wears to capture the time card)! It’s featured in episode 12 (“Time and Time Again”, the capture of the Time Card), and is also shown in one of the episodes before, called “The Secret Box” as something Tomoyo is working on. I love bloomers! (References to episodes were to the American dub names for the episodes as I just don’t know them in the Japanese, though I prefer the Japanese version for authenticity.)
The dress itself is made from plain polysatin in a cream colour, and the skirt is super pleated. It’s really full and poofy. I made the bodice lace up at the back instead of a zip, and added elastic to the back of the skirt for some extra floof. The bloomers and choker are made from a gold colouerd polysatin, as is the choker and arm things to match! (I lost one of the wristlets, so improvised with some green stuff!) The wings were cut from foam. I experimented with fabrics, but decided that this was the best way to get them to sit right… and they look fab! I’m going to spray them with some sparkles or glue some rhinestones if I get the chance to wear this again. This wig is universal to a lot of my cosplays and I style it different every time. I’m glad it fits in with Sakura too ^^ The dress is so cute that I can see me wearing it in summer!
Accuracy: I haven’t taken many liberties with this costume except the lace-up back. I could have made it with a zip, but I just decided I would rather have it lace up! If I commissioned this, I would prefer lace-up unless I could do an in-person fitting because the level of fit and measure would have to be exactly right on a corset-like basque!
Favourite part to do:
I loved making the bloomers, because I love bloomers!
Favourite part of the finished costume:
I like the skirt on the dress. It sits really poofy and floofy!
Any bad bits?
Pleating the skirt this way meant it took twice as long to make, and sewing on fabric loops for the corseted back was a real bore!
Modifications:
None! I haven’t made any extras for this costume either. My only difference is not having Kerochan's original accessory (I made it, but I lost it along with one of my arm puffs! Way to go Tetra ^^ )
