Ouran High School Host Club

I had just finished watching Ouran when I found out there was a group of people planning an Ouran hosting panel at ACen 2008. As it turned out, they had every host but Honey and Mori...and if my boyfriend and I were going to cosplay Ouran together, the the two characters we were best suited for (in terms of appearance/height)...were Honey and Mori. So I jumped on the opportunity to fill the remaining two spots. Personality-wise, I'm a polar opposite from Honey (I would have made a much better Haruhi), but it was fun anyway. Tons of fun. The panel was a huge hit! So many people wanted to attend, we actually filled the room to capacity and had to turn people away. It was unlike anything I had ever done before and pulled me out of my comfort zone, but I became friends with a fun bunch and had a great time. :)

I made both mine and Mori's jackets. I had a heck of a time finding fabric in the right color. Sadly, the fabric I ended up using was a quilting cotton that I used interfacing on. It definitely wasn't a good fabric choice, but it was either that or a better fabric in a way inaccurate color. :T I lined both jackets with proper liner. The white dress shirt was actually my school uniform blouse from my study abroad, lol. The pants were bought/already owned and the patches were bought from ebay. My bunny plush was also bought from ebay. The wig I used was mostly good to go as it was, in terms of its style. I did spray dye it more of a golden color since it was too light of a blonde.

This costume was very comfortable and all kinds of fun to wear. I'd never had so many options for posing, haha. My boyfriend and I came up with a lot of fun things to do for photos and people just loved it.
