The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

This is the first cosplay that I've ever made ALL by myself, though I got some tips from different people (thanks so much) and mom helped with the bodysuit. The costume took a whole year to finish. I wore it to Animecon '08 on the first day, and I won two awards in the cosplay contest. :D

Here is how I made the costume:

First I thought I would use full body paint, but decided to wear a bodysuit. I have fixed or remade almost every part of the costume a couple of times... And now I'm happy with it. XD

I bought the wig from eBay, thank you very much to Liquidfire3 for telling me about the shop. I LOVE the wig, it's beautiful color and looks natural, doesn't tangle, takes hairspray, feels soft... I'm very happy to own it. >< First I bought a crap wig from a Finnish store but it was so horrible I threw it away. This one that I have now is so many times better I can't even count it.

The crown was built on a hairband. I made it using wire, clay and craft foam, and it's painted with silver paint and details with a thin marker. The forehead piece is clay, and it has a red 'diamond' on it. X)

The makeup contains of good quality white facepaint, purple eyeshadow (that I use on my lips too XD), black eyeliner and a thick pencil thingy for the brows. I don't have red contacts because my eyes are too sensitive for wearing them, and I'm scared of putting those things in my eyes anyway. :D

The hair thingy is made from posterboard, wire and craft foam, and it looks surprisingly good. XD I thought about making it with clay, but it wouldn't have worked. It's better that it's light weight and easy to put on. I didn't make the anklet - it's a silver jewel I bought years ago, but it's good enough to wear with this costume.

My mom made the white lycra bodysuit. The black parts are fabric. I will add some glowy designs later, I hope I will have the time for that. I painted my hands, but it made a mess so I think I should use gloves next time. XD

The skirt was easy to make... I painted the designs with white fabric paint. The belt is made from craft foam, and it could look a lot better than it does now, but I'm too lazy to fix it.

The cape is my favorite part of the costume. I made the whole thing from scratch, and I'm surprised that I didn't have many troubles with it. It was actually easy to do. :o But it took a lot of time... First I made a good plan for the pattern because I wanted it to look just like the model in the game. I didn't have a good idea of how to do the sleeves, but they look pretty good to me. The hood was easy to make too, I used an old hoodie of mine as a reference. XD The cape stays on me with an elastic strap that goes under my arms around my back. The white borders were made with satin strips, and all the white designs were painted with normal fabric paint. The cape consists of 12 pieces.

I'm wearing those shoes because Midna is at least a meter taller than me. XD But I think they suit very well with the costume...

And here is the thank you section....
Thanks to everybody who helped me with this costume and those who comment on my photos. It makes me really happy to see that people like my costumes.
