So, I'm a complete newbie to cosplaying and after playing Crisis Core I knew I just had to go this year as Zack. I cut the project into eight pieces, which I've listed below. Overall this costume has cost me about $250, but I have no doubts someone with contacts or cosplay experience could do it for less than half of that. Unfortunately I started this project with only two months to complete it, but so far it looks like the project is still on schedule for Fanime 08.

Wig - Needs to be ordered and styled.

Shirt - Had a costumer make this, looks great and fits fine. I assumed that the shirt was black like in the game, although it looks to be a dark navy in the cinematics. Looks great as is.

Pauldrons - Had a costumer make this, but ran into some problems. See below. Still thinking about how to resolve this.

Suspenders - Bought a set of real Y suspenders, still figuring out how to keep the pauldrons attached.

SOLDIER waistband - Had a costumer make this along with the suspenders and pauldrons. Unfortunately the entire contraption doesn't fit very well, and I've decided to cut the attached pauldrons and suspenders off from this piece and wear this piece by itself so that the suspenders don't cause it to ride up.

Gloves - Just looked around the net for a pair of black leather gloves. Easy part.

Belts - Just went and got two matching black leather belts.

Pants - I had an online costumer do these. They're basically loose black slacks.

Boots - I've taken the rubber overshoes and run a strip of folded rubber around the top part of the boot, then staped it both inside and out onto the boot. Looks pretty good.

Buster Sword - This is most likely to be an extra summer project, I doubt I'm going to have time to build one.
