She's an obscure character, but I liked the costume. Due to the fact she's only in one chapter of the manga, I didn't have a lot to go from, so I drew quite a bit of inspiration from geisha/maiko. The obi was the hardest part, as it was 7.5 metres long, and 4 metres of it are hand painted with cherry blossoms and camellias. Then we had to tie it...it was impossible for me to do it myself, so I had to teach a friend. It's tied in the darari obi style used by maiko. My grandparents actually took most of these photos, we were posing in her garden.
