Wario Man (aka Super Wario)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Before trying to make this costume there is a funny story behind it. When SSBB came out on the Wii, and I used Wario's Final Smash attack for the first time, my brother and I laughed and he said "Dude, you should totally make that costume," and I looked dead straight back into his eyes and said "Okay". Wario is one of my favorite characters in Smash Brothers, so dressing up as him would be fun. My group that went to ACen 08 had their eyes set on the Smash Brothers photoshoot, so I had to make a Smash character anyways. The costume didn't get too much recognition. I heard a lot of people mumbling rude things like, "Awww, god...." or "Oh jeez, it's that thing." Luckily, when you where this costume you're immune to criticism because it's so hot ^_^
To start off, let's explain about the body suit. I wanted to ask myself first if I'd want to make the suit bigger because my body isn't large. I didn't want to go as a skinny Super Wario, but I thought about putting stuffing into my costume, but voted against that because I didn't want to sweat at the Con. So, I wanted to go with a skin tight suit(which I then decided to use stuffing just around my belly and butt to emphasize Wario's disgustingness(that is a word). I found a site online that could make body suits. It was really weird because it was an S&M style, and I felt creeped out ordering this. I had the suit customized to fit my body and it cost around $45 with shipping, so it wasn't too bad. I chose a very bright pink with a shine to it, so it'd look more pretty ^_^. A funny story with this costume was that the site pressured me into adding a "crotch zipper" for the ability to "release", but I declined. Then, they offered me an S&M cap for my face/head, and they told me it was free of charge. I'm a man who can't deny free things, so I accepted that ^_^
The body suit arrived and it was customized to have a zipped going from the back of my butt, up to the back of my neck. The suit fits perfectly on my body, and getting into the suit is kind of hard. I bought about a yard and a half of purple fabric to use for the cape. The super hero cap was made by Chibi-Soujiro. It was done in great detail and included the yellow circles around his eyes and the bright blue "W" on the forehead of the cap. For my gloves I bought some cotton work gloves at Fleet Farm and some Red Dye to dye the gloves red. They turned out pretty decent. At the Con I placed a small fart machine in my left glove, so I could do fart poses with the device, but sadly I couldn't use it because it was so noisy at the Con. I used some red slippers I had from home. The body suit had to be tweaked a little bit because I needed a big "W" on my stomache and a bunch of these little yellow squiggly faces. I had Chibi-Soujiro make them for me, and we used velcro to stick them on my costume. I used black electrical tape for my mustache, and I used a marker to color my nose red. I didn't have enough time to make a bigger nose out of molding clay or anything. I think I like how the costume turned out, so I don't think I'll be making one in the near future. The end result turned out better than I thought. I do plan on wearing this again, but I just hope that people won't insult me while I'm in it *shrug*
