I made the kimono easily enough, under kimono and all for this. I hand painted all the flowers, and made a double obi (yes, it is a proper obi and I had to be tied in and everything) plus painted the hearts along the outer one.
The wig is SOLID. So much hairspray and spike glue went into it, and all the buns are actually hollow. The hair pieces are sticks with paperclay, an improvised scrunchy from a tube of cloth and a random strip, and a basswood comb.
This was an interesting costume to wear, especially since alone the character is unrecognizable-Kayo needs to be with other characters from the series to really be recognized.
