Ever since watching the first season of Rozen Maiden, I've always wanted to cosplay as Shinku. Finally, my friends and I decided that we'll pull together a full group for Scon08. Coincidentally, this was also the year that Ali Project (the group that does the openings for Rozen Maiden) came to have a concert at Scon!!! A few of my friends and I were ecstatic about this news because we're also big fans of Ali Project so this fueled the making for our RM group even more.

I had big plans for Shinku, because I wanted to incorporate aspects from the artbooks/manga/anime... but as a true cosplayer that never happened and time-constraint/efficiency was preferred over everything else. Styling Shinku's wig was a first attempt for me since I've never styled long hair wigs before. Curling it proved to be a bit difficult, especially the big curls. It was a good experience though. I'd say if it wasn't for the wig, it would've been a comfortable costume to wear. But velvet was such an annoying fabric to work with... because hairs flew all over the place. I kept a vacuum beside me as I worked...
