This is going to be my main costume for Portcon Maine '09. I will be working with spandex for (at least) the upper body, silk or satin for the lower half, that very wide rope in a similar fashion to Orochimaru from Naruto, and a hard and smooth material for the mask.

Then there is the spear. I have this one relatively planned out in my head as using an iron pipe or something similar, adhere ever so slightly crumpled red wrapping paper, and find some way to add on the head of the spear, probably made out of some kind of very hard plastic.

So the only real problem is the spear. How am I going to make it as realistic as possible while at the same time making it safe enough so it corresponds with the cosplay rules of Portcon?

NOTICE: Because the cosplay is rather tedious and I have obligations to some other cosplays, I will be putting off this cosplay and regular Will Powers until further notice.
