Why Sakura of all people?
Well because I really wanted to do a challenging costume for once as all my past costumes have been fairly simple. I was kinda willing to do anyone providing it's not ridiculously difficult like a full size Gundam or something LOL! Then Special-pleb came along and told me she wanted to do a Fai cosplay and so I said 'Woooow that's so cool! 8O Heeeey, maybe I should attempt Sakura fufufu' And so I did, since she was doing the Artbook Celes version I figured I'd match and do the Artbook Clow Kingdom version of Sakura ^_^ [Though on the day she wore her Touya cosplay with me]. And thus, sakura was born!

If it weren't for those darn shoe covers I would say this was my favourite costume lol xD

Materials used:
8m white polycotton [Approx]
2-4m purple polycotton
Black silk
Pink fimo
A helluva lot of craft foam
Gold acrylic paint
Hot glue
Black and yellow ribbon

The making:
The top was made through guesswork, thankfully my guesswork was right first time... apart from the second sleeve I made, weird that I got the first one perfect but the second one really rubbish-y xD. I can't really describe how I made it... I guess I just measured the width of my shoulders and decreased it so that it would lie just above them, measured arms and hacked off the amount of fabric needed for the body then sewed them together... SOMETHING like that! 8D; All the details were added on afterwards.

The trousers were very simple, double layered with normal shorts underneath just for comfort [Yes, 3 layers of fabric meant that I was sweltering xD;]. I made them absolutely HUGE so they would poof out more, harhar. And they were made by guesswork as well by measuring the back of my leg and front then added the two fabrics together.

The skirt was evil, the base of it was simple as it was just a normal circle skirt using 4m of fabric. Hemming it was nasty because being the n00b I am I just couldn't get the freakin' hem neat! XD But this was covered with lots of ribbon/trim ;D What was evil about the skirt was that darn purple detail! D< I hand-stitched it all on which meant lots of hours slaving away to make them neat, stitches at equal width, etc. I think after 2/3 I caved in and just HAD to use the sewing machine... which turned out neater than I expected D< [I was worried that it wouldn't be too neat with the sewing machine as I wouldn't be able to control it but I used it just fine xD;]. Then all the coins were added on, I think there were 106 coins altogether, and they kept on falling off lol! I was dropping coins everywhere at the expo and ReCon ='D It was funny when random strangers just came up to me and said 'Hey, I think you've dropped a coin' xD

The headband was a rectangle with the detail added on, then the dangly piece of fabric was tacked on. The headband is what's making the costume incomplete as I still gotta add on the rectangular dangly bits xD... I'll do them over time ^_^;

The shoecovers are the worst part of the costume D< Sooo evil! I didn't actually have a sole for them but I didn't mind that. It's the fact that the little slit in the shoes make it physically impossible for them to stay on my foot LOL! In the end I had to glue them onto my feet ;o; Maaaan, what I do all in the name of accuracy xD Despite the design it's still very inaccurate, I had no reference as I made them in the car journey to expo and so the black details were kinda funny. I got them right in the end as I suddenly remembered but they're so damn wonky! XDD I've made them too small too... hopefully in the future I can redo the black details =3

The choker was just a long rectangle with coins sewn on
Coins were made of craft foam btw. Since they were cut by free hand and I got so bored after a while most of them ended up looking like deformed circles 8D
The wig I styled myself, but the antennae's fell down after a while ;o; Need to put more hairspray into it m'thinks xD
