The Legend of Zelda

I love this costume so much. It was inspired by Ginjirou's drawing/coloring on deviantART: http://ginjirou.deviantart.com/art/Link-coloured-30494099
I bought a green and orange t-shirt from Wal-Mart. The orange shirt was actually a Hanes t-shirt from the ladies section, but I knew I was going to chop it up pretty good.
The green shirt I didn't chop at all. I made the little triforce from the same orange shirt with leftover scraps (it was a last-minute add-on). There's only one sleeve on purpose, BTW. I only wanted to do one sleeve for the "modern" vibe, and then I added a little strip of orange on the other one. Then, with leftover fabric from the orange shirt (I bought an extra-large, BTW), I made the sleeve. Which came out too big, so I wrapped it in cord. I also wrapped my other hand in chord.
The skateboard was found at a local Goodwill for about 8 bucks. I made my own stencils by printing out a Hyrule Crest and Triforce from my compy, then using a knife, I cut it out. I then sprayed the board a basic blue (took about 3 hours because of the many layers on it), then put the stencils down and sprayed those. In all, it took about 5 hours to complete.
Pants were easy as well. I took some chainmail rings and put them on the side and then proceeded to string them with some black cord I had. I also took another stencil of the Hyrule Crest, cut it out, and painted it on the back pocket.
The hair? A mutilated Hannah Montana wig. I didn't have time to buy a good-quality wig (I have one on the way, though), so Wally World had them on sale for 5 bucks. *grin*
The headband was made out of a green scarf. Also from Wal-Mart. It was the most expensive piece of clothing at 7 dollars.
In all it cost $33 to make this entire costume.
Okay, I totally re-did my shirt for my costume, and it looks GREAT now. I'm going by the original Link design from the first Zelda, with the orange sleeves, but I'm only doing it on one arm for the modern aspect.
It looks a little more "skater/modern" now as well. I've also added some little cords from the sleeves--it's coming along great.
Shirt is done. Pics are up!
Got a new wig specifically made to look like Link's hair. Looks much better.
