This is my first attempt at a compition piece. And let me tell you how crazy the road has been with this thing. First I will start with that crazy wig, It is a long wig that is stubbed for a ponytail. Then the bun was carved from foamcore and painted black, from there I covered it with 7-8 packs of extentions. Before the bun was attached the sticks were wire framed the beads were attached and then paperclay and paint was added. All total the thing wieghs about 10 lbs. So in order to not kill myself trying to wear it I have to pin it in very carefully and then use a clear strap that wraps from the wig around my chin to help hold it up.
The dress is self was rather simple with two layers lined, the top was made with a simplicity kimono pattern and then fitted to the bottom which was made using a formal gown pattern. It was the patches that threw me for a loop I had to learn to quilt to make and attach them appropreately. All total about 30 yards of fabric were used to make this piece. I used a Kona Cotton blend which I won't be using again as it doesn't ever fully become wrinkle free.
At current I need to fix the pink top sash as it is too loose, tighten the corset, attach two patches, and touch up the wig as it was damaged at the con.
It is finally 100% done, and as soon as pictures fron TnT are posted I will put them up.
