This has been the costume in which I have spent the most hours ever!!! Is also the most beautiful and colorful costume I have so far!
The costume I divided it into 6 sections: The kimonos, obi, head piece, wig, make up and wings.
Kimonos: I made three different kimonos. The first one is just a simple white kimono. The second one, is a blue one you can only see it in my sleeves and in the neck. This one has the bottom front and the sleeves hand painted cherry blossoms like the ones on the outside. The main red one was all hand painted: the yellow, the flowers and the fade in in the flowers. It took about 150 hours! to finish the top kimono. It was tiresome to work on it some many hours but I'm very happy with the results and I want to thank Maggifan for helping me with this ^_^ hugs*
Obi: The obi has a butterfly design that was completely hand painted by me. The cords are glue to the obi and the butterfly in the middle is made out of wood
Head Piece: The head piece took me so long. Is compose of 12 flowers made out of wood. Six of them are of one kind of pink in the back and the other six of a different kind of pink in the front.
Wig: The wig was completely straight when I got it. I made the curls on the ends. I did it slowly to make sure I didn't burn the wig.
Make up: The face painting takes a long time to look good and the bad part is that it fades very easily. I used theatrical make up which is better for the skin.
Wings: The wings are made of fabric. The designs are hand painted. I added Led lights to make them visible at night since they are black.
