Final Fantasy IX is my far my favourite game of all time and Vivi is my favourite character, so he's always been my dream cosplay. I'd always put it under that "I'll do this when I'm better" category but when my best friend decided she wanted to cosplay Freya, we agreed on being an awesome group 8D

I started making this way back in like June or something. I ordered a base coat from Ebay because I knew I wouldn't be able to make it from scratch. I attacked the hood and stuffed it so it stood up like his collar, then set to work on the wiring in the back. I did not like this bit at all >: It took me forever to cut it right and then I tried to sew the wire in... which obviously the sewing machine did not take well to. So I stopped that, unpicked, then tried to sew the wire in by hand. Which looked rubbish, so I unpicked that and sewed like... a pocket so that I could thread the wire through. This worked but then the wire was too short so I had to take that out and put longer stuff in. In the end this took longer than any other part of the costume and it still didn't stand up like it should XD

After that I sewed the white material down the back and stuffed it so that it stuck out. I made the cuffs and stuffed them, then glued ribbon on to them. I used foam for the metal rings on the front and threaded all the red rope bits, and that was the coat finished! 8D

The hat was my favourite bit :3 I took an old witches hat we had and sewed the fleece on around it, then made the top about twice as long and stuffed it all so that it would stay up on it's own. I stuck the ribbon on and then realised that it wouldn't balance on my head anymore! So I just had to hold on to it all day haha XD

The pants were easy, I just bought a roll of cheap green ribbon and sewed it on to some pants I had found. The belt was bought from Primark and the shoes and gloves belonged to my mum 8D

I had so much fun wearing this! I've never cosplayed a popular character before so it was like AH SO MANY PHOTOS D:
