Ichimaru Gin (Hueco Mundo)

Hueco Mundo

I purchased this costume from Tess. We have the exact same measurements, and I'd been a fan of her Ichimaru for a while. So, when I saw it for sale I knew I had to get it. It's *really* well done - I don't know if she is accepting commissions right now, but I highly recommend her work. An interesting fact about the fabric is that it is slightly off-white, which made it easier to photograph than a pure white. The photos Tassie got of this costume rock!

Arrancar boots were made using base boots purchased at Payless Shoes. The stripes on the bottom of the boot are electrical tape that is attached with an industrial adhesive (I learned the hard way that superglue alone won't do the trick). The stripes going up the leg and around the ankle are ribbon which was handsewn by Tassie, my cosplay mentor. The white soles were painted on with acrylic.

Shinso's construction is detailed in my Turn Back the Pendulum Ichimaru costume. Shinso is my favorite part of the costume.

The wig was Fashion 101 in color 60 (purchased from Amphigory). I trimmed the bangs a bit with thinning shears, but that was all the styling required. I do treat the wig with a sheen spray before each wearing. Otherwise it looks kinda frizztastic (heaven knows I get enough of that with my own hair. At least my wigs should behave properly).

I just love the bold black & white designs of bleach. They all look so sharp. But, when Kubo throws in spot color (blue sash, tsukamaki, and eyes) it just becomes magic.
