Since I was going to be at Youmacon for Halloween, I thought I should take at least one "scary" costume. Well, tonberries are scary. And this fan art I drew ages ago, inspired by the "sexy" Pokemon cosplayers, of a "sexy" tonberry, has also been called scary.

However, I realized early on during the construction process that I don't have enough curves to pull off "sexy" tonberry. It just looked cute. So rather than continuing on with the "sexy", I played up the "cute" angle, with a nice innocent-looking wig and the silly little tiara, and it became the Tonberry Princess.

I think this is the first time I've ever had a costume with a tail. It was fun to walk around in, because the tail bounced as I moved. :D However, the yellow spandex over the eyes gave me limited visibility (enough that I could avoid bumping into things, but not enough that I could recognize people or see the buttons very well in the elevator), and after awhile the spandex pushed the sunglasses I was wearing under it (to make for a smooth surface for the eyes) into the bridge of my nose and my cheekbones, so it got to be painful to wear after a couple hours.

However, I'd totally do it again, because it was just plain fun and silly. ;)
