Inspired by fanfic ideas of mine, from several years into the future of the story after Akane and Ranma have married and grown up a bit. Done originally for a friend's "where are they now" talk show panel, though we've done different variations on the outfits since.

Akane's gone through "training from hell" with Nodoka Saotome (Ranma's mom) to improve her domestic skills, and while she's still clumsy she's capable. Her wardrobe's supposed to be a mix of Western clothing and the occasional kimono thanks to Nodoka's influence. Since I collect kimono and haven't gotten around to designing one of her "modern" outfits yet, I've only done kimono-style so far. Her hairstyle's also influenced by Nodoka's: long, braided, and usually worn in a bun (partly because it's easier to show time has passed that way).
Overall, it's supposed to convey a "housewifely atmosphere". I'd like to add a naginata to the ensemble to make that "badass housewife"; she is still a martial artist, after all, and the Tendou style does seem to emphasize some weapons-usage!

Ranma's mostly taken over the day-to-day running of the dojo, and more recently has started training his son in the Anything Goes style. Like Soun and Genma he mostly wears traditional Japanese clothing around the house, having outgrown or worn out most of his Chinese-style outfits.
His jacket's the "official" design for the dojo and has his name and the school's embroidered on it. I'll have one to match once I finish it.

All fanon, of course, but I have been recognized as Akane while wearing this outfit! Could've been the hair, though.
