This costume was made over the period of about 4 1/2 weeks while I was in school. This was a dumb idea XD bc I didn't have much time to work I was making umi at the same time and this was my first time really sewing and using patterns O.o

Construction Notes:
The vest was made from scratch using a pattern. Then I put bias tape on the edges. Near the top of the vest there is cream ruffles which I made by taking 1" ribbion and hand pleating it into pleats that were about 1/3" long and then attaching it to the vest. The collar is one that I ripped off a button down shirt from goodwill and then sewed onto the vest.

The white shirt underneath the vest was actually a longsleeve shirt that I butchered into a tanktop w/ a very low neck so that way it wouldn't show above the vest clasp. XD I was too stupid to realize I could have just bought one and saved myself the trouble LOL oh well.

for the cravat I made my own pattern w/ scalloped edges and then made it like a pillow case and sewed across the top later and gathered it there then inserted it into a band made form the same fabric. Oh and it snaps closed in the back.

The neck decoration thing was made with sculpy and then attached to the chain with gold beads. The multicolored beads that hang from the neck thing as well as from the ends of the swords were wooden beads that were painted to be the right color.

The Belts ALL of the belts both leg and arn are made from craft foam. I sealed them with modge podge painted them with regular acrylic paint and then added a gloss. Finally all around the belts on both edges I hand embroidered fake stitching.

the gloves :) this was my first time making gloves and i'm quite proud of them.I made my own pattern following a guide online that just has a front and back hand piece and then a thumb piece. I used another shirt i found at good will because it was the perfect color. The armor on the gloves is also made of craftfoam glued to the gloves. It was sealed with modge podge and then painted w/ a flat black mixed with a flat forrest green. Then the silver was also mixed with a little forrest green just to make the armor blend a little better with the gloves.

The cuffs they were made from fabric cut off of the bottom of the pants. I made up the shape and then sewed it. Then I inserted a piece of craftfoam cut to be slightly smaller so that they would stand up on their own. Then since no part of the cuff was fitted to my arm to keep it from falling out of plave the very edge of the cuff was glued to the end of the armor on the glove. Oh and the button was also made out of sculpy.

The pants were bought at goodwill and then the ends were cut off so that A. they couldn't fit into my boots bc its too tight w/ a lot of extra material and B. so that the material could be used to make the cuffs and the 2 side pockets on the pants. The 2 isde pockets I just again made up a pattern and then had to hand sew the pockets onto the pants.

The boots were also bought at goodwill btu they were really ugly liek 4" tall boots. So I covered them with craftfoam to make the designs on zidanes boots raised and to cover the massive hole where the heel is. The lip at the bottom was added to make them look more real. The the cuffs at the top were handsewn 2/3 of the way around the boot on the inside and then I had to just snap the rest into place since I couldn't sew over the zipper and still be able to take my shoes on and off. Finally the shoes were painted in all flat acrylic paints

the wig was just bought and styled .... don't know what other details i can give for that

The Swords :D are sooo my favorite part. They are made from foamboard and modelmagic and are about 35" long I think. I first made my schematic and cut a base layer of foamboard and then made the 2 outside layers cut in where the beveled sword edge should be. Once glued together I filled the gap with model magic to make the beveled edge. Then I cut a piece of craftfoam to be the top of the hilt and filled all the rest with model magic and I made the bottom of the sword rounded with modelmagic. Everything was sanded and then the bottom had a hole drilled out so that way I could then bend part of a hanger into a square and insert it to swing down there. The tassles fromit were made form the painted wood beads and red suade chord. The swords themselves were painted on the handle with a flat forrest green and a pure gold and then the blade actually has a gradient on it the gradient starts at a metallic red and end with a metallic pearl white w/ a little bit of red at the end. The edges were painted with metallic pearl white and then the designs were hand drawn on and painted in a flat whit so they would sitck out more.

The holster was also made out of craftfoam. I cut a front and back piece and then beveled the edges and glued the edges together to make the base and then added all the details. The chain was just stolen off my keyblade because of lack of time. The chicken thing was sculpted with sculpy. Everything was painted in the same manner as before with modge podge, followed by acrylic paint, and gloss.

The tail was made by just cutting 2 long rectangle pieces curving one end. The sewing them together and flipping inside out. Then I straightened a coat hanger and wrapped batting around it and began the long process of making it go all the way up the tail XD. Finally once it was stuffed I hotglued the edges onto a strip of elastic that wraps around my waist then I sewed the edges and again covered the stitches in hot glue. Finally I just slip the tail through the whole in my pants before wearing.
