Description
I've gotten quite a few PMs asking how I made the hat. Luckily for you as I was making the hat I was taking photos along the way hoping to write up a tutorial (it took me months to finally get round to it though, because I'm that lazy 8D;)
Here's the tutorial I made:

If your still stuck feel free to PM me!
Yaaay Shugo Chara!
Mottman showed me the dance for Honto no Jibun that Buono sings and I thought it was way more hyper and fun than Renai Rider so I just HAD to learn it [Although Renai Rider will remain as my favourite Buono song]! Then I suggested hey why not cosplay the Guardian Charas and perform it in Oct. And so Mottman's Ran cause she has the hyper role, I'm Miki because... I dunno - she wears blue! And Charliemon is Suu because she has the perfect hair for her ^_^
Oh great fun, the dance is really fun to learn! It's going to be such a strange arrangement, Miki in the middle!? XDD But I like her role the best in the dance =3
Price breakdown:
Wig - £9.99 [inc P&P]
0.5m Dark blue polycotton - £1.50
2m Light blue polycotton - £2.79 [inc P&P]
Black top [pre-altered] - £0.95
Wadding - £2.90
How the costume was made:
Top was a normal baggy t-shirt I got from a charity shop and hacked it into shape then hemmed. Shorts were easily made as I've made quite a few trousers in the past! They're very big and stick out so much 8D white shirt is my old old school blouse, I can't believe it still fits me 5-6years later!!
Hat was made with a lot of mathematical calculations. Okay not a lot, just using pi...
*C&P from journal*
I started out by measuring the circumference of my head, divided it by 2xpi and made two semi circles. Since I got my measurements wrong the first time because I forgot to times pi by two I added another panel to make it bigged. I sewed together the two semi-circles and voila, it was the shape of my head!
I put that to the side then started out with two circles with the circumference of 50". Realised this was far too big so I gradually made it smaller and smaller [such a long, boring and tiring process!]. I think the end result was 40-45" in the end. Sewed the two giant circles together and cut out a hole which equalled the circumference of the other piece of fabric, later I made the circle to look more like ovals so that the hat wasn't devouring my head so much! I stuffed it with a helluva lot of toy stuffing!
Finally I made the visor, added two layers of wadding to it and attached it to the hat.
I previously carved a foam spade, decided to simply go with an over-stuffed fabric shaped spade instead. Works just as well ^_^ [now I play football with the foam spade ohohohoho, just kidding]
The hat fits my normal head just fine - I was stupid and didn't take into account the increase of size with the wig on though *n00b mistake* it only JUST fits with my wig on but slips off pretty easily...
Bag was made with two panels and one long strip of fabric attached to the bag. I can keep a sketchbook inside it, yay! 8D Boots are my Duo Maxwell boots with bows hot glued on.
