My friends wanted to do a Fate/Stay Night group for A-kon this year, so I threw in my hat and said I'd cosplay Saber. I'd never seen the show before, but she wore armour, carried a sword, and wore a pretty dress. When I finally watched the show I was happy to find that I really like the character!
I was originally going to make her fully armoured version for A-kon but time constraints forced me to change direction and simply make her blue gown. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, even if I -did- use tissue lame bias tape for the accents (I can't stand the stuff, but a friend uses it constantly so I thought I'd give it a chance) and don't really care for the fabric I used (it was on sale and the only thing that satisfactorily matched the colour). Still, the final product looks good, and that's all that matters. ^^
