Princess Tutu

This is the first time I can remember choosing a costume specifically because of my undying love for the character. I usually like the characters, at least, but I love this guy. He's a Jerk With A Heart of Gold in the best way.

Choosing Fakir as a first wig-styling project was stupid stupid -stupid-, but taking that into account, I'm rather proud of how it turned out. The shirt (with one false start - protip: nonstretch fabric DOESN'T STRETCH. Who'd'a thunk?) was actually a lot of fun - I have the laces rigged around buttons sewn into one end of the lace (which is heavy duty drawstring-jacket elastic) and able to slide out if I need them to (thankfully, that never happened), and the cuts in the sleeve are fray-checked within a quarter-inch of their lives.

Pants and shoes are old closet finds. The sword was a massive joint effort between myself and my Mytho, with most of the good bits credited to her.

The responses to these costumes were amazing. I love Princess Tutu, and it's wonderful that so many others do as well.
