I originally made this costume a while ago for my first cosplay picnic. I wasn't that great at sewing then so there were several flaws with it.
For a recent ACG gathering, I decided to re-wear it as Sakura. It actually reminded me of something Sakura wore so I modified some parts, re-did the skirt to make it fuller and voila~ This is the result.
The sakura petals were attached onto the sleeves with heat and bond. I estimated the sailor collar and it turned out much better than I expected. The most annoying part for me was sewing the trim on the sleeves, I'm very anal about straight lines so it was absolutely self-induced torture. I kept re-doing parts, which I'm sure didn't even make that much of a difference in the end, but like I say~ if it matters to me, it matters. Bleh. X3
All in all, I like how it turned out :) and just to clarify, I would like to mention that even though it is an original design, it's not my original design. I saw a drawing of it on deviantart and was highly inspired. I can't recall the artist's name, but if you happen to know it off-hand, let me know~! I would like to credit her/him.
