I had always wanted to tell the story of a villain before. The story you never hear. Why do they want to take over the world? Why do they hate humanity so much? I had been stewing over an idea since high school.
Originally I was going to tell the story of Dr. Discrimination, the villain who worked opposite of a hero I made up in high school named Super Dude, but it didn't seem to have enough weight. I wanted more juice and I wanted the character to have real drive to try and rule the earth.
Then in about June of 2008 I had an interesting revelation after getting out of the hospital. What do I want to do with my life? I wanted to help people... I wanted to save people... but how? The only real conclusion I came to was world domination. In order to save people would I have to hurt them? To take the car keys away from the human race and say "Hey man, your to drunk to drive"? The answer is simply "yes". And that was my inspiration. I wrote up the concept for a villain name Dr. Holocaust and began looking for an artist to help me in making this idea a web-comic. After making the mark 1 gloves and putting together the outfit I went to FanExpo promoting the idea. I found out swiftly that the welding goggles were already corner-stoned by Dr. Horrible so I switched to sun glasses to help distinguish the two of us. Didn't help much lemme tell ya.
Regardless, I found an artist after the masquerade and proceeded to put the project on the go. In the mean time I have been improving the costume (mark 2 coming soon) and doing short videos with the character.
