The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Last Updated: 12-18-2009

After my failed attempt at Midna, I think I'm going to go a bit simpler and try Ilia for a change. Sure, I don't like her that much, but she's kinda like a little sister character in the game and that's pretty much how it's going to be for my first cosplay, since I'm still learning. I'm looking forward to showing my first -real- costume off, maybe taking some pictures in a photoshoot, meeting other cosplayers, the whole deal!

I'm giving myself (a little over) a year to do this, which I'll probably need so I can save up for materials and such. Wish me luck!

Just now ordered my wig from CosWorx! I can't wait to see it!

-Update 4/25/09-
The wig arrived in the mail today! I love it! :D I might have to style it a bit, but not much. I't very poofy. =P

-Update 6/5/09-
Okay, I haven't updated my costume in a while. I've ordered an ocarina from and it should arrive sometime today.
I've found some fabric for the bottom of her shirt (not the semi-transparent lacy stuff at the top) and her capris/shorts. Still need to scrounge around for blue yarn or ribbon, but that will be easy to find at Hobby Lobby. I also need to make up my mind about how I'm going to make her bag. I know that I'll need velcro or sew-on snaps to make it stay on my leg, but I'm not quite sure if I want to just buy some felt or crochet/knit it myself. =/

-Update 6/8/09-
My ocarina still hasn't come yet! I was hoping it would come yesterday until I learned that there's no deliveries on Sundays. __" Hopefully it will come today!
So, last night I decided to make the pattern for my shirt. It took me about three tries and three yards of muslin to get it right. But I love it so far! I was so excited with my progress that I decided to take a picture of myself (actually, I asked my mom to take the picture) in my test shirt and my Ilia wig. I'll be uploading that soon! =)
-Just got back from buying materials for my shirt. I probably bought a little bit too much for the top (I actually figured that it was grey, not lacey or sheer), but oh well. I also just found out that my ocarina might take another week to get here. T-T It'll probably take me another week to finish all the details on my shirt, anyway. So, after I finish my shirt I'll make a pattern for my pants and then continue on from there!

-Update 6/9/09-
Well, my mom was too tired last night to set up the sewing machine so that I could start working on putting together my shirt, so hopefully we're going to get that done today. And plus, the machine has something wrong with it so that it sews too loose and the stitches look all weird. We're gonna have to fix that.

-Update 6/15/09-
The ocarina FINALLY arrived today! I love it! It's too late right now to explain now, I guess I'll explain more later.

-Update 8/13/09-
Oh my gosh. I am SO lazy! I haven't gotten THAT much done, except finish my shirt and put all the details on it. Actually, it's not THAT detailed, but it will have to do. I'm going to try to get a pattern for my pants and materials to make them either today, tomorrow, or the next day. At this point (so close to A-Fest) I'm not really going for that much detail right now. I'm just going to find a pattern for capris and make them, maybe sewing or painting on the pattern at the bottom. IF I have time, I MAY make the little bag that goes around her thigh. (It might be useful for carrying around things at A-Fest.) I don't know. I just want this costume to be presentable by A-Fest!

-Update 8/22/09-
I whipped up the pants in about a night- all I have to do is sew the casing for the elastic at the waist and put the elastic in! ^^ Then I'm "finished" with my costume, and I can move onto my dad's!

-Update 12/18/09-
LOL. It's been so long since A-Fest, I should probably start fixing this costume up. When I decided to wear Ilia for Halloween, I noticed a little rip in the seams along the side of my shirt. o__o|| Definately need to sew that back up. And, I should probably start working on little details on the shirt and pants- need to get some fabric/acrylic paint for the pattern on the bottom of my pants, and I don't know what I need for my shirt just yet. =/
Hopefully this costume will look a bit better by A-Kon! XD
