Ah, Yami no Matsuei.....I will never grow tired of the series, even though it's on hiatus. Cosplaying from the series helps keep my love for it alive! But I've already tackled a few of my favorite characters......so who's next?

I'm thinking of joining some of the other awesome YnM cosplayers here and try my hand at one of the detailed shikigami characters. My first choice, of course, was Suzaku. My absolute favorite out of all the 12 shiki~<3

It may (or may not) look like it, but this costume-- heck, this whole IDEA of being Suzaku- was thought up at the last minute about 2 weeks before SakuraCon '09. Found a red dress, gathered some proper accessories and props to go along with it, and I borrowed a long black wig from a friend and altered it. This is the end result.

I wore Suzaku on Friday morning and part of the afternoon. Of course no one recognized me- this is an original outfit, after all- but some people thought I looked rather nice.

So yeah....this is a good starting point! In the future, I want to make one of Suzaku's official outfits-- preferably one that won't freeze my legs off. XD

Update: For the May Gasukan gathering, I brought Suzaku out again. I made arm covers with little orange feathers around the hand area, put on a new set of jewelry, and stuck red feathers in her hair. There was more I wanted to add, but I had no time. Oh well~ The additions look adorable! :D
