This costume was a collaboration between myself and my cosplay partner-in-crime KaitouHotaru. He's an FF9 fanatic, and was always saying that he wanted to make a Beatrix costume. So when I suggested that I go as Beatrix and he as Zidane for Sakura-Con '06, he agreed pretty damn quick. ;D
And that's how our little FF9 group started (we later got a Freya and Dagger). While Kaitou made the Zidane, Freya and Dagger costumes in their entirety, we split the Beatrix costume 50/50. He did the sew-able bits, and I was responsible for the rest.
My task-list for this costume includes (i.e. everything I made): Boots, armored gloves, armlet, belt ornaments, undergarments (undies and pantyhose), wig and "sword". To make or aquire these items took me 6-8 hours, possibly more. The costume cost me roughly $150.
Despite some of the "boo-boo's", I think that this costume turned out really well, and I had a blast wearing it. And even though it was one of the easiest parts of the costume to make, my favorite piece would probably have to be the undies, as they were Granny Panties. Oh yeah, I was stylin'. xD
I have to send a big shout-out "THANK YOU!" to my darling Kaitou and my friend TheChilibird who went as Freya, because she essentially styled my wig, as I wanted it to look right and it thus had to be on my head through the process. ^^;;
