Sanzo is my all-time favorite male anime/manga character, so I had to crossplay as him at some point. This is the first costume I've made entirely on my own, and in my humble opinion, it turned out damn good. xD

Originally, I was going as part of a complete Sanzo-Ikkou in their original outfits, but it ended up being only me and my friend Naria as Goku. It was still a ton of fun with just the two of us, though.

This costume took me somewhere around ten hours to make. The most obnoxious/difficult aspect of the costume was the chestplate-thingie (no idea what it's proper name is)/sutra, as I connected them into a single piece that I could drape over my shoulders. The rest of it was pretty straightforward (though the crown gave me a bit of trouble).

Okay, so I kind of lied when I said I made the costume *entirely* by myself. ^^;; The wig was in fact styled by the illustrious Katie Bair. I just didn't trust myself to style his hair properly, and it ended up saving me a lot of grief, too.

[This particular verison of this costume is now retired, due to it being lost in a tragic shipping accident. D: However, I have since remade it, and will be posting pictures in the near future.]
