Victreebel Gijinka

Pokémon

Last Updated: 04-18-2011

I don't know what grabbed me into the Gijinka trend but I wanted to have a go at it. My favorite Pokemon wasn't going to be possible for me to make so I decided to just go with one that I liked from the Original 151. I liked Victreebel's design and realized I could use my Miria wig for her.

The head leaf is made out of fabric, interfacing and wires. The wires inside make it fully bendable into any position (that allows it to stay on my head of course). There are two comb clips attached to the bottom that I stick on my wig. There is a 10 gauge copper wire that runs from the tip of the leaf to the middle of my calf that I put bias tape around to mimic the vine. This is a little something that wasn't part of the Gijinka design I was going off of that I wanted to add from the original Pokemon. This is also fully bendable.

The dress is a simple evening dress pattern that I modified. The top was taken down quiet a bit, and the bottom was shortened a great deal too. Not too much to say about it except that its a little to skanky for my taste.

The ass leaves are made out of the same things as my head leaf. Fully bendable as well, they attach to the back of the dress with 10 gauge snaps.

Retiring after Akicon '09. I don't think my leaves will hold up for that long and it's an annoying costume to get around in.
