Mulan is one of my favorite disney girls, and I thought that it would be amazing to make my favorite varient from my favorite part of the movie. This I think is the most popular outfit to make, and I just love the general look. I don't know why, (my memory is fuzzy), but I made this out of cotton. Maybe it was because the only pink satin my local Joanns sold was costume satin and I have a BAD history with shiny pink satin? I was really excited because this was the second costume I made by myself, and the result is fabulous. I made the dress using by altering a pattern of a robe, and made a TIGHT maroon skirt (which I lost weight before the con) and the blue middle piece, everything was pretty easy and I didn't have any difficulties with it. I had a great time in it though, a lot of appreticative fans and the CUTEST little girl who squeeled in a high pitch voice thought I was Mulan, the cute moment made an artist in the artist alley cry. Aww!
