Description
This is a dress I made years and years ago based off of Elizabeth's gold dress in Pirates of the Caribbean : Curse of the Black Pearl. But, it was never finished. So, I set it aside and it languished in my costume collection until just this very day, when I took it out and wore it with the underskirt and stomacher from the blue saque gown. I wore it briefly for Scarborough Faire (until it started pouring), and I had my sister snap some pictures when I came home.
The dress itself is tone on tone gold silk. The back is one huge piece of fabric that is pleated en fourreau, with a bit of piping on the upper seam. The underskirt is dark gold silk essence with a large ruffle at the hem and decorative ruching. The stomacher is the same dark gold, with lighter gold trim in a zig-zag design.
In case anyone was wondering why I used the name Bianca von Bavensen for both an Elizabethan gown and a Rococo gown, she's sort of my all-encompassing persona for period events up until the early to mid 1800s, when she becomes Bianca Evans. ^^;
