Description

Completely made by myself. I found the perfect gold trim for the shirt at JoAnns, and new I had to make this costume. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pay homage to this fantastic PS2 game. I bought red velvet from eBay and used it for the hood, sleeves, and back skirt. I got red/black taffeta from LA Fashion street for $3 a yard, phew, what a nice price! O_O <3

This was my first time pleating anything, and it took a while, but the sleeves are completely boxpleated, and need to have the taffeta bits inserted in between the pleats and ironed to show the pleats better. The stars are craft foam stickers that I gessoed and painted gold. the black lace is half a yard of black lace from Hancock Fabrics merely pinned around my head, the gold chains are from Party City (lol), the stockings were bought in downtown LA, and the garters are made of black elastic and ruffly chiffon material.

Overall, this costume is a very striking look, and it seems odd that I'm doing this because it shows so much skin, but the game is so great and Velvet is such a strong character.
