Volume 61

The OneChanbara

Last Updated: 07-05-2009

Inspiration: Aya kicks zombie @$$!!! Literally. I've always loved women of strong character. And it's a plus if they can be strong while looking gorgeous at the same time.

I saw the character at a PS2 game called Zombie Zone, also known as Oneechanbara. I immediately noticed that I already own the same swimsuit she was wearing, and that my mom has a wig looking just like her hair. It was fate ;)

Favorite aspect: Fast to make. The costume was already halfway done even before I started!

Hardest task/aspect: Skimpy!!! Joggers and bikers kept stopping on their tracks. And I kept being on the lookout for cops who might arrest me hahaha!

I only hope I could wash the blood off...

Costume maker: me

Photographer: jokwa aka Jun Marcelino

Other photo information: Taken by jokwa aka Jun Marcelino. Fake blood, boots and sword/scabbard also from him. The location was in North Cemetery, taken at sunrise.

Cowboy hat borrowed from roommate, who bought it in Boracay. I bought the blue cord(for the hat), pink lace boa, silk fabric(for the sleeves), gold ribbon(for the sword thigh belt) in SM Makati. I sewed up the sleeves and sword belt in one night. Jojo had an indie filmmaker friend whip up he fake blood from corn syrup and red food dye :)

One of the runner-ups for Cosplay Magazine's Cosplay Photo Contest.
