EDIT: Info updated along with costume revamp! The change in the gallery is rather obvious--the first version was with the hat and no wig, the second one...um, it's correct. Hurr.
WOW, this costume was easy. I started with a plain dress from Goodwill, dyed it yellow, and just started taking it in and cutting it apart until it looked right. Haha. And it is SO short (almost uncomfortably short--except for my crazy body-shaper leggings thing, that makes me feel better). So that's interesting to wear at cons, haha...ha.
Other than that, the boots were something I conveniently already had, the necklace and zipper pull were sculpey with shiny silver spraypaint, and the wristband is ribbon with fashion tape on it. Dang that stuff stayed well--it lasted two test wears, two days at a con, and one day at a HOT, SWEATY PHOTOSHOOT. I am impressed.
As for the wig, I got it on the magical eBay and did a bit of tricky styling (read: scissors and really strong hairspray). I was pleased with the result, despite some problems. I was surprised so many people thought it was my real hair!
LASTLY, the new addition, the weapon was made by my dear boyfriend out of dowel rods, chain, spraypaint, and assorted other things that he would know better than I would. It was hella fun to carry around at a con (since I could sling it over my shoulder or around my neck when I did not want to ACTUALLY carry it), and it got a lot of attention, which is epic-level awesome.
