Princess Jasmine

Well...I would like to start with the simple fact that I love Disney! Jasmine has always been my favourite princess! I have always kinda related to actually being tan is definitely a plus!

As for the details of this costume-there are many!

This was the first time I made a pair of pants..and had to kind of guess the pattern by looking at a pair of my own jeans! When they were all made, I took some gold fabric to make the belt-like trim at the top of the pants. I kinda modeled my costume more off of those worn in( the disney kingdom! They are soo detailed and gorgeous!) After stitching the gold fabric on, I hand beaded all the beading on the belt as well as threadedthe dangling beads! Sequins were also sewn on by hand:) At the bottom of the pants there were buttons that fitted the fabric around the ankles.

The top was just a bra I had had.(Its kinda hard to make a bra from scratch..and the fabric was expensive so I didnt want to screw up!) I sewed fabric over the bra, cut off the existing straps, and hand sewed in some clear ones. trim was added everywhere and jewels were glued on:)

The necklace was a doozy..all i can say was it incolved hours of hand beading..alot of glue and some paint! lol-oh and dont forget the decoration wire!

The wig was also a doozy! I rolled fabric into it to get that odd shape of her bangs..and the pony tail had small styrofoam balls covered in black fabric nestled inside the hair! The glass beads in the wig were hand strung and sewed in:)

I guess all in all, I really wanted to do Jas justice because I love her soo much! Too bad I had no Aladdin!
