I was introduced to the idea of Hetalia cosplay (and Hetalia itself) back in the fall of '08, when a friend IM'd me saying, "we found this awesome manga where countries are people and YOU HAVE TO BE AMERICA". Intrigued, I gave a "lol k", and set about reading the comic (I was actually pretty excited, as I foretold endless opportunities to abuse the phrase "in America"). Immediately, I fell in love with the idea, and thus joined what eventually became the Hetalia Group of Epic Proportions for Gasukan 13.

I made the uniform jacket using a modified Civil War uniform pattern; the rest was made up of clothes I already owned (though I added the fuzzy collar and patches to the bomber jacket). The burger plushie is a large dog toy I found online, and yes, it squeaks. ;D
