I've been watching the new Doctor Who series since it started with the ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler. Martha is my second favourite companion, the first of course being Rose.

The idea for making this costume came after a conversation with my boyfriend about how he looked like David Tennent after a shower and messing his hair up.I convinced him that for the next sci-fi con, he should go as the Doctor and I'd be his companion Martha.

The first tricky part was finding a jacket that closely resembled Martha's trademark red one, but after looking in a dozen different stores and not finding a single one that looked close, I gave up and made my own. It only cost me $27!
