The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Last Updated: 02-04-2010

The major portion of this costume was made for me, because I've never sewn my own body suit. All the measurements were correct except for the arms which were too long and hung rather than clung to my body. A friend was kind enough to help me trim the sleeves' width down, though I may need to sew them down as length-wise they're still rather long.

For the headpiece, I cut the bill from an old baseball cap and wrapped it in medical tape. The wig was a cheap one I cut because my hair is long again, and not layered.

For shoes, I used lavender tabi shoes that I think are the closest look to her original shoes. For the throwing needles, I painted a few chopsticks and sprayed them with a good fixative.

All in all, it was FUN being Sheik... I just need to trim a few more of the wrappings and perhaps sew some of them onto the costume, not just wrap and tie. I'd also like to fix the sleeves more, get a better wig at some point, and perhaps a harp.

EDIT: I fixed up the hood and the edges a lot better for Ohayocon 2010. I also used more medical tape that strips of white fabric for the wrapping. There is still more I'd like to tweak on this costume, though its getting there...
