I decided to make another "regular" style of Wonder Woman. We took elements from several artists' takes on Wonder Woman, and combined them to make something we (my husband and I) both liked.
------------
Wig: My Zatanna wig.
Tiara: made of plastic, painted gold. The star is the same star from my 2007 Wonder Woman tiara. I think it's a little too tall, I've asked my husband to trim it for future wearings.
Bodice: Used a pattern, it is 4 layers, boned, with cups built in... laces up the back. I really love how it turned out.
Bottoms: Used a swimsuit pattern. Had trouble getting them to fit, ended up making it several times before being happy with them!
Chestpiece/Belt: My husband bodycast of me early this year and used that to sculpt the chestpiece and belt so they would fit me. We weren't happy with the gold paint my husband got to do the gold pieces with - it looked brown! We had to spray paint all those pieces with regular gold spray paint at the last minute so I could wear it at Dragoncon.
Gauntlets: We also took casts of my arms to create my gauntlets. We used the same sort of paint on the gauntlets that we'd used on the gold pieces (except in silver, of course) - and it worked beautifully for the silver! (not so much for the gold.)
Boots: My same 2007 Wonder Woman boots.
------------
We're going to be upgrading the chestpiece, I don't feel it's 3d enough (though I love the fit of it!), and also repainting all of the gold pieces. Hoping to re-debut this at MidSouthCon 2010.
