Winter

Oh, chilling winter!
I'm currently on a Hallowe'en kick of personifying the seasons. 2008 was Autumn, so 2009 was Winter's time. I didn't want to do the traditional snow queen, or ice princess style that I often see, when someone costumes as Winter. I wanted a sort of...gyspy or shamanistic look to it. I was pretty satisfied with the out come of it, bar a few details here and there. But it survived the party we went to, so that counts as a sucess, right?
This outfit was a mix of preconstructed materials, as well as handmade. The shirt, vest, crinoline, belly dancing sash and shoes (Shiny silver runners, baby, I love them XD) were all either bought or borrowed from willing or unwilling family and friends. The skirt, however was handmade will love, attention and a few barely surpressed curses. Being relatively new to sewing with some fabrics, I of course though that the sheer organza was going to easy as pie to use.
Now speak of it never again.
Oh and the thingies near my ears are Christmas decorations. :D
Credit goes to my best friends for a) making the necklace to match my sash and b)for drawing my face make-up. Thanks! <3
