Description

Who couldn't love those really cute Pokemon Gijinka art?

Btw, i'm a HUGE fan of Gengar. (and sabrina. unfortunately, they are not fans of each other D:) so I wanted to make the Gijinka gengar...naturally.

I guess, for my 'take' on it, it was mostly, i had this really crappy light purple wig that I was like, oh, what the heck, might as well try to dye it darker which FAILED (oh, so many black sharpies gave their life for it! sigh) and it was itchy and no fun, so I decided to make the head part a hoodie. lol. Also, it's hard to be 'gengar' like without the eyes, so i thought the hoodie would hide my eyes (along w/ the hair) and just use my creepy smile. I love my creepy smile. :B

Dyeing like 6 yards of flannel in a kitchen sink was fun too. The purple at JoAnn's was never dark enough for my taste, and I didn't want to make it out of fleece (I live in Texas, for goodness sakes) so flannel was the nice, soft, alternative. I've also never made a dress before, so...this...was my attempt to pattern it by hand. with general knowledge of skirt shape, lol. I also just threw a buttload of net thru the sewing machine and my monster petticoat came out of it, lol. that thing is beast.

Sadly, never finished the shoes, thus never bothered with the bottom at the convention. Plus, everyone thought I was haunter or something...I really should update it with some back spikes, really cool eye glasses, and zippers for the hand areas, cuz honestly, holding it together was LAMEASS, rofl.
