I wanted to try something unusual in the lolita costume field. And since the general consensus is to use Victorian clothing, I decided to take a trip back a few centuries to the Elizabethan era, when women were squeezed into triangles instead of hourglasses, smeared lead on their faces to make it pale, and in my opinion, had stronger "gothic" roots than Victorian ladies.

I made everything but the partlet (ran out of time and an SCA friend bailed me out), and the hats, both the French hood and the attifet were eBay finds. Oh, and the petticoat, if you REALLY want to get on my case. I could use a new one of those too.
