The World Ends With You

Uzuki was a lot of trial and error.
The shorts were bought and hemmed, and the wings were cut from simple foamboard. The shirt was a navy interlock with a heavy duty wire to simulate the ruffles (looking back, I needed more wire!). The corset was an adventure all in itself, made from white poplin with some segments hand-dyed gray to match hers. Megan helped me a crapton with this part, it being my first corset, and I'm forever indebted to her!
The worst part was the gloves. I attempted to construct them with a vogue pattern, but I quickly got frustrated with all of the ridiculous tiny pieces. In the end I drafted my own pattern and cut the fingers long so I could sew them to a point and mold them to my own fingers.
I enjoyed wearing this costume, but I'm more than happy to hang her up for retirement!
My only lament was never having a Kariya to sport on my arm. D;
