My first heavy-duty cosplay making experience. It was cobbled together mostly from thrift store materials that were bleached, dyed, hacked apart, and reassembled in wondrous new ways. I made the gloves myself (from scraps of the shirts I cut up to make the main shirt), and they look very nice from far away, but no so much up close. I also made an embroidered hanky out of said scraps, partly because I knew on Halloween night my nose would run and I wouldn't be able to wipe it on my sleeve with face paint on, and partly out of boredom. A trip to Party City for said makeup led me to what has become my favorite prop: A candy bucket in the shape of Batman's head. A bit of sharpie turned the eyes into X-es, and put a smile on that face. Now I use Batman's Severed Head as my purse for cons.
